Artists Statement

The history of African American people is an ugly, yet beautiful story; filled with a collective anguish and triumph, a shared sorrow, and joy, as well as mutual dreams and realities.  The visual images that tell the story of the African people Who became the African Americans can be emotionally draining, visually graphic and psychologically unnerving. But it is a story that must be told honestly through all media; electronic, celluloid, digital, print, and through the fine arts.

I have chosen to tell the story of African people in America through the medium of paint.
